Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used as a primary treatment modality or in conjunction with Western medicine to treat many different problems, especially pain, and promote overall well-being in our equine patients. It can be used preventatively to treat an imbalance or low-grade soreness before it becomes a major issue or lameness. The trained practitioners of Tryon Equine Mobile use acupuncture to detect imbalances, often soreness or reactivity when scanning the meridians in conjunction with Western medicine to greatly improve the overall health of our patients. The initial exam findings, clinical experience and response to previous or current acupuncture treatments will determine if your horse benefits from acupuncture alone or with concurrent western medicine. Many horse owners use acupuncture as a routine part of training to prevent injuries. Tryon Equine Mobile has two trained acupuncturists on staff: Dr Rachel and Dr Mary.

Chiropractic Care

Equine chiropractic care is the art of healing that focuses primarily on restoring the spinal column’s normal movement and function to promote healthy neurologic activity. This modality of therapy supports effective musculoskeletal function and overall health. The trained equine chiropractor will detect abnormal vertebral motion that in turn inhibits the surrounding nerve function as the nerves exit the spinal cord. This altered nerve function causes problems such as pain, abnormal posture, uncoordinated movement, overloading distal limb joints and muscle changes. Tryon Equine Mobile has three trained equine chiropractors on staff: Dr Mary, Dr Rachel, and Dr Ethan.
