Mary Gochnauer, DVM

Dr. Mary Gochnauer is a 2006 graduate of THE Ohio State University where she focused on Equine and Large Animal Medicine. After graduating she returned to her hometown of Davidson, NC where she entered into practice with her father Dr. Bob Gochnauer, becoming a partner of Mobile Large Animal Veterinary Service. Mobile Large Animal had been in existence since 1976 with a proud legacy of high-quality medicine with a hometown feel.

After the passing of Dr. Bob, Mobile Large Animal joined with Tryon Equine Hospital, PLLC becoming Tryon Equine Mobile in 2018. Dr. Mary proudly carries on her fathers legacy in this exciting new partnership.


She enjoys sports medicine, lameness, preventative care, alternative medicine such as chiropractic and acupuncture, and surgery. She has two lovely warmblood mares named Grace and Daphne and a Frisian named Ben. She has three dogs; Wrinkle, Gus and Gretta. Her three chickens and three barn cats round out her farm family. She enjoys trail riding, gardening, hiking, visiting friends, baking and decorating cakes. Late summer & fall are her favorite times especially to get the opportunity to watch Buckeye Football.

Rachel Stellini, DVM

Dr. Rachel Stellini grew up as an avid equestrian, competing in the hunter/jumper discipline. She attended Clemson University and earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science while riding on the Clemson Equestrian Team. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from Oklahoma StateUniversity in 2013. Dr. Stellini started her career as a hospital intern with Tryon Equine Hospital where she focused on equine sports medicine and surgery. She took another year to focus on equine lameness and continuedwith Tryon Equine Hospital as an ambulatory associate and working at the Tryon International Equestrian Center and at various FEI events. In 2018, Dr. Stellini took the opportunity to continue with Tryon Equine and join Dr. Mary Gochnauer with the start of Tryon Equine Mobile. Since then, she hasenjoyed practicing sports medicine, alternative medicine, and preventative care for the equine community of Charlotte. She loves riding her mare Aravis and spending time with her dogs Hazel and Archie. You can’t miss her on the farm because she is always wearing something to represent the Clemson Tigers.

Ethan Strain, DVM

Dr. Ethan Strain was born and raised in Virden, Manitoba, Canada on a ranch where him and his family raise and exhibit Percheron horses. As a 5th generation Percheron breeder and exhibitor, Dr. Ethan has been fortunate to show with his family across Western Canada and the Midwest USA with the 2018 and 2022 World Percheron Congress’ as recent highlights. He completed his undergraduate courses at Brandon University, in Manitoba, and attended St. Matthew’s University for veterinary school and performed his clinical year at Washington State University. His professional interests include lameness, sports medicine, reproduction/neonatology, wellness/preventative medicine, and internal medicine. In his spare time, he can be found at draft horse events, hiking, spending time with friends and family, or working with his own horses.

Lauren Magley, DVM

Dr. Lauren Magley graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2018. After graduation, she began practicing in Western Michigan for almost 5 years. Eventually deciding that the cold was too much, she relocated to Tryon Equine Mobile with her several animals and fiancée. She enjoys all aspects of general practice, but has a special interest in reproduction/neonatal care, sports medicine, and emergency services. Outside of work Dr. Lauren and her fiancée, Wil, enjoy hiking, camping, and travel/fine dining when possible, and also enjoys reading and spending time with her friends and pets. She has a golden retriever - Tavi (who may be with her on the occasional farm call) and a housecat – Beegee. Dr. Lauren also has three horses - Roady, Nori, and her ever-adorable colt, Raven. She hopes to get back into more serious riding with the move, and has a history in eventing and dressage.

       Courtney Josey Crater, Lead Veterinary Technician

My name is Courtney, I am from a small town in NC called Mocksville. I am a veterinarian technician here at Tryon Equine Mobile, I joined the team in July of 2022. I grew up with horses and always knew I wanted to work with them and that is exactly what I did as soon as I could start working! I have a quarter horse named Revenue, a thoroughbred named Atlas and two dogs! I enjoy trail riding, going to the beach and spending time with my husband, family and friends!


      Kirsten Rittereiser, Veterinary Technician

Kirsten is an ambulatory technician who is a recent graduate of Clemson University. During her time at school, she was an active member of the Eventing and Equestrian teams while also volunteering with the Therapeutic Riding program that Clemson offers. She enjoys reading, hiking, and preparing her puppy to become a therapy dog in her free time. .

      Nora Rhyne, Veterinarian Technician

I am Nora, a full-time veterinary technician at Tryon Equine Mobile. I am an avid eventer with my OTTB, Ford. My equestrian background includes Pony Club, where I achieved my C2 and HB certifications. In my free time, I enjoy riding and outdoor activities.

Cajsa Stroem, Veterinary Technician     

Hello! My name is Cajsa and I have 3 horses Tina,Bella and Enzo. I also have a German Shepard named Sasha. Im Originally from Sweden and moved to North Carolina in 2011 with my family. I have a huge passion for animals, especially horses. I started riding horses at a young age and ever since I have been hooked. I earned my bronze medal in dressage when I was 20 years old. In my free time I like to spend time riding my horses, and hanging out with friends and family.

      Madison Barker, Office Supervisor   

I am Madison, and I have been a part of Tryon Mobile since December 2021. My early aspiration was to establish a career in the veterinary industry. While I do not currently own any horses, I am patiently awaiting the ideal setting to accommodate them. Currently I have a chocolate Lab named Charlie, who holds a special place in my heart. My experience at Tryon Mobile has been immensely gratifying, as it allows me to forge meaningful relationships with our clients. In my free time I coach soccer and hang out with my boyfriend and family.
